Statement on Remarks by Jimmy Wanjigi

21st June 2023

The Association takes great exception to the media interviews as well as senate submissions on the country’s debt.

As a stakeholder in public sector debt, we hold the view that the relevant agencies should very much invite Mr. Jimmy Wanjigi on record to provide necessary documentation on various claims on our debt book as well as questions regarding various legislation processes.

Its worth noting that we are in transition from a 4th regime to the current regime and these claims not only border on economic crimes but could also create diplomatic spat.

International debt is not only key to our country, but also a great resource in the management of our affairs.

We demand that the relevant institutions investigate these matters with facts, figures being the only discussion and should there be any individual directly benefiting from this, let them face the full force of the law.

Thank you

Secretary General
