Statement on Pending Bills Committee

28th June 2023

The Association wishes to send its greatest regards to H.E. President William Ruto, EGH, and the entire cabinet for the formation of the Pending Bills Committee to analyze and provide a way forward on the pending bills from 2005 to 2022.

This not only provides a great headway in settling long-term debts but also provides a definite roadmap to conclude payment of suppliers.

Appreciating that the Governments (national and county) remain the single largest buyer, it’s prudent that the committee gets all the necessary support to analyze all the bills as well as get all information required to enable it to provide a policy direction on future public procurement.

The Association shall provide all support required to enable every supplier to get what’s rightfully owed.

We ask Kenyans to support this committee and at the very least ensure that all those with pending bills are informed to attend and present necessary documentation.

The association shall provide logistical and administrative support to all suppliers as they prepare documentation thats essential to enable verification of the bills owed. Feel free to reach out to our office via our Secretary-General on sg@supplierskenya.co.ke

On the same note, we take this chance to remind all Kenyans to develop internal structures to comply with the various regulators, laws and at the very best pay taxes, as in so doing we provide much-needed funds to enable our Government to among others settle the bills

Thank you
National Chairperson
